In astrology, Algol emerges as a fixed star of profound symbolism, famously associated with the head of Medusa in Greek mythology. Often perceived as a feared influence, what does it truly reveal about our lives and paths?
Symbolism of the Head of Medusa
In Greek mythology, Medusa’s head had the power to turn those who gazed upon it into stone. This symbolism of transformation or petrification invites us to reflect on the impact of our inner gaze and how it can influence our external circumstances.

Astrological Interpretation
Algol is commonly associated with significant challenges and difficulties. However, its presence in the natal chart should not be seen as an omen of inevitable misfortune. Instead, Algol points to areas of life where we may face important trials or where it would be wise to adopt a cautious and strategic approach.
Guidance and Advice
Algol’s influence can be interpreted as advice to redirect our focus from direct goals represented by specific points in our natal chart. It encourages us to explore other aspects of life that may offer deeper and more fulfilling growth. This alternative perspective urges us to consider less conventional but more enriching paths toward personal achievement.
Algol does not represent a personal threat or indicate direct hostility towards us. Rather, it challenges us to adopt a reflective and strategic approach to the areas of our lives it symbolizes in our natal chart. It serves as a powerful tool for self-awareness and personal development, inviting us to explore new avenues towards growth and success from a different and deeper angle within astrology.
Astrological Interpretation of Algol
When Algol is found in key points of the natal chart, such as the Midheaven, Ascendant, or significant planets, it may suggest areas where we face significant tests or where it is crucial to adopt a careful and strategic approach.
- Midheaven at 26 degrees of Taurus with Algol:
- Traditionally, this could be interpreted as challenges in career and public recognition.
- From a new perspective, Algol encourages us to reconsider how we define professional success. Instead of fixating on external goals, Algol suggests exploring other areas of life that may provide a deeper sense of achievement and personal satisfaction.
- Ascendant at 26 degrees of Taurus with Algol:
- Traditionally, it might indicate tensions in self-image and how others perceive us.
- From a new perspective, Algol invites us not to define our identity solely by external perceptions. It encourages authenticity and self-acceptance in areas of life that are not directly influenced by external expectations.
- Sun or Moon at 26 degrees of Taurus with Algol:
- Traditionally, these points could suggest challenges related to personal expression (Sun) or emotional and familial balance (Moon).
- From a new perspective, Algol challenges us not to succumb to external pressures in our personal and emotional relationships. It encourages finding inner peace and satisfaction on our own terms.
Traditional Orb of Fixed Stars
It’s important to note that fixed stars are typically interpreted with a very small orb, usually 1 to 2 degrees, although some astrologers may extend this to 3 degrees. This means that for a fixed star to have a significant influence on a point in the natal chart, it must be very close in degrees to that point.
If you’re interested in exploring how Algol may be influencing your own natal chart or have specific questions about its interpretation, I’d be happy to assist you through an astrological consultation, guiding you through this fascinating exploration of your inner world.
Hello, I hope you read this. Are you aware that Algol was in a pretty tight conjunction with Mars and a tight conjunction with Uranus at the exact moment of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump? The decumbiture chart for that moment is astonishing! I hope you respond to me, and do your own work on that moment.
I think I am going to interpret the presence of Algol, in the 6th house (house of health, i.e. essential for a decubiture interpretation) as Kamala Harris. She is the Medusa.
Thank you for your comment. I understand what you mean. However, the conjunction with Algol, Mars and Uranus happened to all of us, no only to Trump or the USA. Anyone who has planets or angles close to 26 degrees have some kind of activation and to each will be different. I am from Belgium and despite I look to world events, that’s not my speciality.
