What Venus in Scorpio Is Like

Venus in Scorpio makes Scorpio beautiful. And Scorpio makes Venus magnetic.

Don’t think of her as a woman. Think of Venus as a “state of being.”

Venus is grace in someone, charm. In something, in the present, in life.

Natal Venus is obvious. You can see it in the eyes. In the way someone looks, smiles, approaches something they like.

Approaches?

Yes. This Venus approaches without moving. She likes something. She likes someone. And she stays still. She waits.

What is magnetism?

In physics, magnetism is an interaction produced by magnetic fields, which in turn are related to moving electric charges and to quantum properties of particles, especially electron spin.

At a chemical level, “magnetism” is a combination of sensory and neurochemical processes. Among other things, dopamine is involved in desire, anticipation and reward; norepinephrine increases arousal and attention; oxytocin and vasopressin are more closely related to bonding and attachment; and there are also olfactory, hormonal and bodily signals that we often process without even realizing it.

At an astrological level, it is Scorpio.

What do Leonardo DiCaprio, Jim Morrison, Joaquin Phoenix, Jeff Buckley, Julio Cortázar and Maradona have in common?

Or Dakota Johnson, Zoë Kravitz, Rosalía…

Or Patti Smith. Or Nick Cave.

They all have Venus in Scorpio.

They look at you, they smile, and there is something they are not telling you. And you know it.

What Does Venus in Scorpio Like?

Listening to the same song 500 times on a loop.

Being fascinated by the intelligence of a crow as it opens a plastic bag with its beak to get at the piece of sandwich someone dropped.

Watching a spider build its web and discovering intentions you had never imagined before.

Rewinding a film just to watch that gesture one more time.

Finding a flower more beautiful just as it begins to wilt.

Wanting to know what is behind a door that is always closed.

Jealousy? No. If we are here, we are here completely. A slight shift in attention is enough to break the spell.

Don’t like it? Find yourself another Venus. Don’t stay until she feels you have betrayed her. Ah… too late. You already smiled at her.

Finding a flower more beautiful just as it begins to wilt.

Wanting to know what is behind a door that is always closed.

Finding a handwritten dedication inside an old book.

Keeping a little piece of paper because it has someone’s handwriting on it.

A conversation that begins at midnight and ends after the sun has come up.

Opening a box that has been closed for twenty years.

Reading personal diaries, old letters, notes in the margins.

Watching a painting being restored and another image appearing underneath.

Keeping a broken glass because you know which night it comes from.

The smell of old books.

A film in which nobody clearly says what is happening.

Watching an interview and paying more attention to the silences than to the answers.

Finding a key without knowing what it opens.

Entering an abandoned house.

Someone saying, “I remember,” when you were convinced nobody did.

Remembering her birthday.

Remembering exactly how she takes her coffee.

Noticing that she cut her hair even though it was barely a centimeter.

Jealousy? No. If we are here, we are here completely. A slight shift in attention is enough to break the spell.

Don’t like it? Find yourself another Venus. Don’t stay until she feels you have betrayed her. Ah… too late. You already smiled at her.
