The natal chart is the map of the sky at the exact moment of a birth. It may be the birth of a person, a relationship, a project, or an event. That instant contains a particular quality: a seed laden with possibilities, with its own form and a narrative that begins to unfold over time.
From this perspective, the chart can be read in many ways:
— As a tool for self-knowledge: a symbolic map to explore who we are and how we relate to the world.
— As a living oracle: not because it predicts a fixed destiny, but because it offers images and questions that illuminate the present.
— As an archetypal narrative: the story of a consciousness seeking to unfold, with its gifts, challenges, calls, and transformations.
From my perspective, the natal chart is a sketch that shows us the “cosmic” composition of an instant. Because, as Carl Sagan —a poet of cosmology whom I deeply admire, even knowing his firm skepticism toward astrology— would say, we are stardust. The natal chart is a mirror of that.
That instant also contains a desire: the individual desire to experience certain qualities, certain conflicts, certain forms of relationship, and certain gifts. We might call it “seed”: it contains the form of the oak, but does not determine whether it will grow straight or twisted, whether it will find fertile ground or rock, whether it will open to the sun or close in the shade. That is decision, chance, response to the environment.
What the chart shows is the direction of that desire. And this becomes evident when comparing the charts of members of the same family: there is no repetition, but variations on what seems to be an intention from the origin. As if several musicians were improvising on an invisible score, each from their own instrument and time. The chart reveals the part one is playing on that score.
Whichever approach one takes, the chart allows us to observe a living structure: a configuration of potential, rhythm, and meaning. My work as an astrologer consists in reading that structure and translating the hidden messages of the sky into human language.
This same language can be applied to different levels of reading: natal chart, solar return, synastry, transits, progressions, specific questions, connections, projects, or particular moments.
My process
Each chart requires time. I study the configuration in depth, trace its symbolic connections, and observe how its different elements relate to one another before giving final form to the reading.
