Is your Zodiac Sign Wrong?
This is one question that is asked every so often and I would like to answer it in this article.
Once in a while a publication or video appears where astrology is “debunked” because the constellations today are in different positions than 2500 years ago. From the point of view of astronomy, the movement of the constellations has moved a few degrees, and that’s true. So, based on astronomy, someone from Scorpio would be actually from Libra, those from Libra would be Virgo, and so on.
But for those of us who have studied astrology, we know that Western astrology is based on the seasons, not the constellations. Aries always starts at the equinoxes. In the northern hemisphere, it is during the vernal equinox. In the southern hemisphere, during the autumnal equinox. Taking this into account, your zodiac sign remains the same as always.
There are other types of astrology (like sidereal) that follow the movement of the constellations, but this is not the case with tropical (or western) astrology., which is the most popular in the West.

Western Astrology is based on seasons, not constellations.
So considering the seasons, the sign of Aries begins during the March equinox. The gradual shift of the constellations has no influence in this respect. In a sense, Western astrology is based on what happens on Earth, correlating it with what is observed in the sky. The effects of the planets correspond to observations made thousands of years ago and, with the expansion of our consciousness, the understanding of these effects has also expanded. I see it as a cosmic language of which we are part… a dance between the Earth and other celestial objects. The Earth responds, and we, being part of it, follow that dance.
Some say the planets actually show us a mirror of what happens on Earth. Others say that each planet has an individual consciousness, just like the Earth, which is considered a living being. Yes, for some this is considered “woo woo”.
To astrology “debunkers”
There are endless mysteries regarding astrology and the synchronicities it shows us. I understand that many scholars cannot accept the validity of astrology. Personally, it took me a while to “come out of the closet” as an astrologer… With my south node in Leo, I wanted so much to be liked by the world! However, as I studied astrology in more depth, it was undeniable how useful and valid it is.
Carl G. Jung recognized that astrology provides a “psychological description of character,”[19] with the planets corresponding “to the individual character components.”[20] He felt “the horoscope is the chronometric equivalent of individual character, through all the characterological components of the personality,”[21] and that a person’s natal chart could provide insights into “what her [the patient’s] soul intended for her to achieve. (Sue Mehrtens, Jung on Astrology).
I mention Jung because there aren’t many “respected men (and women) of science” who have studied astrology lately… or that at least make it public. I think most of us astrologers mention Jung at least once and especially when we are described as charlatans. Jung wouldn’t be called a charlatan. Furthermore, perhaps we expect Jung to become the gateway to the minds of empiricists because Jung was one of them in his time.
In my opinion, it’s important to consider that using anything outside of ourselves to define who we are is a problem, whether it’s astrology or any other discipline.
Astrology does not define us, but rather shows a series of potentials that are available to us and that we intuitively know we possess. Astrology, at least as I see it, allows us to develop our individuality “despite” the current education in which we are taught as if the entire population were a uniform mass.
Astrology is a permission slip that acts as a translator of natural patterns that follow a consistent trend.
So, despite the fact that astrology has been “debunked” since the Middle Ages with the rise of the power of the church and the Inquisition, its path has continued to develop. As I said earlier, I felt like “coming out of the closet” when I started to call myself an astrologer. I have admired Carl Sagan so much and still do… and he was not a fan of astrology! It’s hard for me to understand why someone I admire so much would discredit one of my passions when I consider him a brilliant mind. I would like so much to explain to him that astrology when studied in-depth, cannot fail to amaze us!

The birth chart is a map of our essential geometry, full of potential. Discover your inner treasure. Get to know yourself in a different way.
What cannot be proven wrong cannot be debunked. For something to be wrong, it needs to be proved wrong. That’s science! That one cannot see it as valid doesn’t mean that those who do are crazy or foolish. If one were to travel 130 years into the past and talk to a villager about taking a selfie, he or she would tell us that we are crazy. That happened to Giordano Bruno in his time, with his contemporaries!
Believe in magic. Believe in the unknown. Fire allowed us to get warm before science discovered the combustion process. One day the same will happen with astrology. Astrology works. Scientifically speaking, we may not yet understand why, but one day we will.
